This teaser aired on Sunday, 7 June 1998, prior to the NewsStand: CNN & Time broadcast and was posted online by Our Hidden History. Listen to Peter Arnett between 3:30 and 6:00 on the tape. He claims it was "US policy to bring in B-52s to destroy the area and evidence" of nerve gas use. Why not just use the B-52s to begin with, instead of inserting troops who took three days to get to the target and supposedly call-in gas? It makes no sense.
This is a trailer from an Operation Tailwind documentary that was never finished. Provided by Jim Moriarty.
In its apology CNN says the "...mission in Laos to kill American defectors is insupportable." They also said, "We acknowledge serious faults in the use of sources who provided NewsStand with the original reports..." Never did CNN say it didn't happen.
This is a recording of famous war correspondent Joe Galloway, co-author of We Were Soldiers Once... and Young. (Posted by Roger Young.)
On 9 September 2020 there was an Operation Tailwind reunion at the Tennessee Museum of Aviation. This 2+ hour discussion provides recollections of many of the participants. (It was filmed by Rich Benjamin of RBA Media and is used with his permission.)
